PARROT KEY CARIBBEAN GRILL
In Salty Sam’s Marina, 2500 Main St., Fort Myers Beach; 239-463-3257 or www.myparrotkey.com.
This open-air restaurant and bar offers a little bit of everything — crab cakes and other seafood, tacos, sandwiches and a hefty drink menu, all in the shadow of the Matanzas Pass Bridge to the beach. Eat, drink and savor the sunset here, or finish your meal, then head to the beach to bask in the natural beauty and Old Florida ambience.

RC OTTER’S ISLAND EATS
11506 Andy Rosse Lane, Captiva Island; 239- 395-1142 or www.restaurantsoncaptiva.com.
One of several restaurants at the Captiva Island Inn, RC Otter’s caters to families, with a special $5.99 menu just for kids. But the rest of the menu is anything but silly kids’ stuff. Think seafood, oysters on the halfshell, steaks and other more substantial fare, as well as a breakfast menu with nearly 100 items.

COCONUT JACK’S WATERFRONT GRILLE
5370 Bonita Beach Road SW, Bonita Springs; 239-676-7777 or www.coconutjacks.com.
You can come by car or arrive by boat at Coconut Jack’s, which has a menu packed with seafood, as well as bar and other comfort fare. There’s an extensive drink menu and Coconut Jack’s also has a good-size retail component, so you also can do a little light shopping. Now, about that view, there’s plenty of dockside seating, which should remind you of why you’re in Florida. ¦
