Get into the holiday spirit; bring a lawn chair and a friend when The Bonita Springs Concert Band presents its annual free Christmas Concert at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 12 at Riverside Park in Downtown Old Bonita Springs.

The band will open with “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year.” Other holiday favorites will include Mannheim Steamroller’s “Fresh Aire Christmas,” “Christmas on Broadway,” and Leroy Anderson’s “Sleigh Ride.”

Popular vocalist Jennifer Gilmore will sing “The Girl from Ipanema,” and “On the Sunny Side of the Street.”

“Jennifer Gilmore has one of a kind voice,” says Amanda Devine, CEO and consultant at Totally Unique Ideas. “The range of her voice is astounding! She can sing literally anything from popular songs to opera making it sound amazing. It is quite rare to have such an incredible talent. What makes her performance even more spectacular is that she sings with feelings and passion — she sings a story taking her audience on a journey to her magical world of music. Jennifer Gilmore with her brilliant voice is born to sing”

Members are under the direction of Gary Smith who retired after 24 years as conductor of the University of Illinois Marching Illini Band and Symphonic Band. This is the 8th season that Mr. Smith has led the band. “The talent of these musicians is tremendous, ranging in age from 15 to 90,” Mr. Smith said.
