Father’s Day 5K helps veterans, benefits Miles of Smiles Foundation

The upcoming TownePlace Suites by Marriott is hosting a Veterans 5K Father’s Day Weekend Run on Saturday, June 17, with a 7:30 a.m. warmup and 8 a.m. starting ceremony on Via Coconut Point in Eatero.

The race turnaround will be at, at the Williams Road roundabout or Hertz headquarters.

All proceeds generated through the $20 running and walking fee for adults and $10 for children 12 and under, as well as local sponsors and events, will be donated to the Miles of Smiles Foundation, a nonprofit that helps veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder via equine-assisted psychotherapy and equine-assisted learning programs.

The race includes live entertainment, pre- and post-race activities, a photo booth, vendors, grab bags, a silent auction and more.
