BSU board re-elects its president
The Bonita Springs Utilities Inc. board of directors re-elected James Strecansky president and Robert Bachman vice president for a fourth term each. Mike Malloy was elected treasurer and Robert Sharkey was elected secretary.
Strecansky has served on the board since 2008. He has lived in Bonita Springs since 2000, when he retired as division vice president and general manager with Air Products & Chemicals, the Fortune 500 company he joined in 1962. Bachman is owner/president of WBG SW Florida Inc. A board member since 2000, he has served previous terms as president and treasurer.
Malloy, who served as secretary in in 2016, has served on the board since 2012. He is vice president for client services at MACH Energy, an energy management company based in San Francisco. Sharkey has served on the board since 2009. A Bonita Springs resident since 1986, he retired as a lieutenant after more than two decades with the Florida Department of Corrections.
BSU members elect nine directors to the board to govern the utility. Other board members are Paul J. Attwood, Brian Farrar, Frank W. Liles Jr., Vincent Marchesani and Ben Nelson. The board of directors holds a public meeting at 5 p.m. on the first and third Tuesdays of each month. In addition, each board member serves on various subcommittees and work groups.
